Cyclist Triggers Accident at Belgium’s Tour de Flanders

Ajang balap sepeda Tour of Flanders di Belgia, dihentikan karena terjadi kecelakaan massal, Minggu (2/4). Peristiwa ini diawali saat pesepeda Polandia, Filip Maciejuk, berusaha mendului rombongan dengan melintasi sisi jalan rerumputan yang digenangi air.

Maciejuk sempat kehilangan keseimbangan saat mencoba kembali ke rombongan dan menyenggol pesepeda lain. Hal itu lalu memicu kecelakaan berantai yang membuat 40 pesepeda jatuh.

Filip Maciejuk lalu didiskualifikasi, dan saat ini, Union Cycliste Internationale sedang menyelidiki insiden ini. Maciejuk pun lalu meminta maaf melalui akun Twitter-nya.

Tour of Flanders in Belgium was stopped due to a mass accident, Sunday (4/2). The incident began when a Polish cyclist, Filip Maciejuk, tried to lead the group by crossing the grassy side of the road which was flooded with water.

Maciejuk lost his balance when he tried to return to the group and bumped into another cyclist. This then triggers a series of accidents that make 40 cyclists fall.

Filip Maciejuk was then disqualified, and currently, Union Cycliste Internationale is investigating this incident. Maciejuk then apologized through his Twitter account.
