Some 32 Monks Welcomed with Foot Washing Ceremony

Sebanyak 32 biksu dari Thailand, Singapura, Malaysia, dan Indonesia yang telah berjalan kaki dari Thailand menuju Borobudur untuk ritual Thudong tiba di Cirebon, Jawa Barat, Kamis (18/5). Mereka kemudian disambut oleh para umat yang menuangkan air ke kaki mereka sebagai simbol penghormatan kepada para biksu.

32 biksu tersebut disambut di rumah Ketua Asosiasi Thudong Internasional di Jalan Pembangunan, Cirebon, Jawa Barat. Mereka berencana tinggal di Cirebon selama lima hari sebelum melanjutkan ziarah mereka ke tujuan akhir, Borobudur di Jawa Tengah.

As many as 32 monks from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia who have been walking from Thailand to Borobudur for the Thudong ritual arrived in Cirebon, West Java, on Thursday (5/18). They were then greeted with worshipers who poured water onto their feet to symbolize filial piety to the monks.

The 32 monks were welcomed at the house of the International Thudong Association head on Pembangunan Street in Cirebon, West Java.They are planning to stay in Cirebon for five days before continuing their pilgrimage to their final destination, Borobudur in Central Java.
